E-Blast: Free Guitar Workshop by Derek Gripper
09-02-2020
Aloha Kahilu 'Ohana,

We're looking forward to our first streaming concert with Derek Gripper at  7pm on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from the beautiful Milestone Studios on a private YouTube channel. Go to our website to get your ticket for your household. Here's a little bit more about Derek, in his own words, from a TEDx talk he gave in 2015.

As a special bonus to Kahilu Theatre fans, Derek will present a free workshop this Friday night at 8pm, demonstrating the basics of his polyrhythmic African guitar style. Anyone who has played guitar before can join, just bring a guitar and spend an hour exploring this new style of playing. To attend, just click this Zoom link when you're ready to join.

Although we are closed for public shows, we are installing a new exhibition in our galleries that will be reviewed by the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. Please see our Kahilu Exhibits section below to learn more about the upcoming Kipaipai show and visit with one of the artists in her studio.

Mahalo and a hui hou,

Chuck Gessert
Artistic Director

Mimi Kerley
Interim Executive Director
